What this website collects, and what it does not.
The short version
This website is an informational site for a research project. It has no accounts, no logins, and no forms. We do not ask you for personal information, and we do not sell or share visitor data. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure general site usage — for example, how many people visit, which pages they read, and which links they click. This helps us decide what to publish and improve.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects technical information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), browser and device type, referring website, and the pages you view. We see this information only in aggregate. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and we have not enabled Google Analytics advertising or remarketing features.
Data collected through Google Analytics is processed by Google and governed by Google’s privacy policy.
How to opt out
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by blocking cookies or analytics scripts in your browser settings, or by using a browser or extension that blocks trackers. None of these will affect your ability to read this site.
Hosting
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub records server request logs, which may include visitor IP addresses. We do not control or have access to those logs. See the GitHub privacy statement for details.
If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply and, where relevant, keep a record of data or citation requests. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Survey data
This website does not host individual-level survey responses. Survey participants are recruited through a third-party panel provider, and survey data is collected and stored separately from this site under the research protocols governing the study. Nothing you do on this website is connected to survey responses.
